so It's my first cousin's wedding in a few days, and just like most of the eastern weddings, guests are invited from all over the family. So one of the persons invited was the husband of my aunt (my mom's sister) who is the only fundamentalist in the family. I recently had my second ear piercing and I wasn't allowed to remove it for three days, so I kind of wore a skull cap to hide my piercing since people of different mindsets were present there. * +

I just wanted to avoid conflict, so I was in the room with that radical uncle of mine, my other cousin, and my mom's brother at my aunt's house... so just as they were about to head of to sleep, my cousin (the brother of the soon to be groom) spotted my piercing and started preaching me how it was against Islam to have a piercing (can't express my beliefs there) infront of that radical uncle. He suddenly got p*ssed and started yelling at me * +

right infront of the crowd, telling me homosexuals wear them and then he told my aunt to get me married off to some man plus Gods curse will be on me and s**t. He basically insulted me very roughly infront of them, and that cousin just kept nodding at him... I for obvious cultural reasons couldn't talk back, but wouldn't it have been fair to tell him to shut up? I do not want to attend the wedding anymore, if the elders can't defend me from being insulted by this pr*ck. * +

I don't need to be at a place where the groom's own brother knowing well this uncle was a radical pointed at my slightly visible piercings so he would know? I got angry and returned home, he later returned alone surprisingly to apologize.. said he only preached that to me 'cause he cares and that his method might not have been correct. I forgive him, but wouldn't it be fair enough to avoid returning to that home now as long as he is there? thanks for reading. * +

As a mother if someone did that to my kid i would have gave them a mouth full and told him to shut it. Then packed my kid and left. * +
