Bapu is basically saying that women should just take it, not resist and plead to her 'brothers' to have their way but not take her life. A silly old fool's vain attempt to place blame back on the victim, afraid that women are growing to be empowered from beneath a misogynist culture, a crumbling culture. In her last moments, she evoked the primal right to resist violation, an instinct far older than religion or civilisation. I'm glad for her in a melancholic kind of way, * +
