Just saw carefully edited footage of how it played out, on bbc news. There was a 5sec delay on the live broadcast, the presenter realised immediately and appeared to try to get the director to cut the feed but it was too late, he looked genuinely shocked and immediately apologised to viewers. Not that i'm defending fox, utter scumbags that they are. clearly it was the directors fault. Maybe it will serve to spark debate on the US media's obsession with this type of live chase footage.
