No, it cannot be proved today. To me it is not down to faith at all. It is not so long ago when we were told, 'Watch the sky on such night, we will have two moons.' We never had two moons! It simply was that another planet became visible to us for a short period of time. Could it be something like that these people experienced at the time of Muhammand? Right? Isnt there some obligation? Surely you owe it to yourself if not the entire human race that you believe that which is true and proven true and reject as heresy that which is false. We need to know the difference, as a species we need to foster knowledge and appreciate the study of factual matter so we can better learn what we need to know. Mythology treated as fact , emblazoning its followers with misplaced zeal holds the entire human race back from its true potential.
