Quite a few olympic athletes chose not to fast this year in order to not inhibit their athletic performance at the games, including the double gold medallist Mohammed Farah. Some donated the equivalent amounts of food that they ate to charities and some promised to make up for it by fasting after their events. Others however fasted as normal but, as far as I know, none of them won anything.

Fasting is not to 'choose'. Its bonding to evry muslim who is physicaly fit or not in travel. For sick people th alternate (only if they r not fit for fasting) is to feed 1 hungry poor person two time or two persons 1 time. Ths is real islam folks. U laugh at things wthout knowledge.
