I don't think so either. Faith is much deeper than beliefs. We all beleive in someone or something but it is not all who has faith. Some come to receive faith while other abandon faith. Am searching the reason/s for it. * +

I had faith in my mother so I belived what she was trying to teach me,at the time I belived in god and father christmas but really they are just a psychological tool to promote good behaviour

You had faith or trust in your mother? It would not matter what your mother, teachers were trying to teach you, soon or later your mind would have rejected it to find it's own truth because it was transferred beliefs. The mind wants it's own. Add to this that each of us is unique. It is a transition that we all, more or less, experience. Some will eventually come back to what they were taught, other will not. * +

A vast amount of knowledge has been destroyed lost or hidden over thousands of years by religious groups so they can literally write there own version of history, the bible was written from translated tablets and scripts, how can I have faith in the ppl who translated them and believe what they wrote

For myself I beleive it is a huge mistake for anyone to place their faith in people! Trust and beliefs is more acceptable to me. The mind goes to and accept the truth. It also reject and often revolt at anything false or of pretense. * +

N plenty of religious ppl also believe in evolution, dont believe in a young earth. But it duznt suit u to accept that

That's a good point lilmadame. The churches will never except it tho , mainly because it removes the emphasise off us . All religion revolves around man and god love of us and reasons he created us . But if were just a of the mixes in the soup that is life on earth then its not all about us. You see rows of fossilized skulls of all the different types of homosipens and then have to think what point did god add a soul * +

@kathie01 there was no insult intended my mother who was religious at the end would put herself in the 'god botherer' bracket . no offence intended to you or your faith, she just had a sense of humour * +
