Ibn Ishaq (970) - The adulterer must be stoned. These words were a part of Muhammad's farewell address to his people on the occasion of his final pilgrimage to Mecca. Those words would have a different interpretation in 'the west' today.

by just reading this.. it wasnt an order by Allah (swt) it was their own man made order... for adultery or the punishment thereof is showed in the Quran as being lashes... the objective of these lashes were to ridicule the offender not too hurt the person or get rid of them *
