u obviously dnt knw anything. The first council was held by a common church, there was no 2 churches, till 1056 when they split, due to the fact that they didn't want to share the reign. * +

so there there is the western church, catholicism and the eastern church, orthodoxy. In thouncils they were debating about heresies, holidays, took decisions, etc. Not sure they chopped the bible tho. * +

This is correct. In fact the first 7 ecumenical councils (Nicaea being the 1s) had representation from the entire church and the decisions they passed were binding on all churches in the world. Its only towards the 9th century that schisms began to cut deep and truly ecumenical (the whole church) councils became impossible. Of the many decisions made by the 1st Nicene council, the ones with lasting effect till today is the endors*ment of the trinity and the transferring of the Easter date from the Jewish passover date (Nissan 14) to our current reckoning. *
