I more or less wrote those exact same words in an A level essay once. She is both Eve and Lillith, tempting and seducing this weak but ambitious man and emboldening him with her strength for him to take what they see as theirs. Even when he comes back with the blood daggers still in his hands she is the one decisive. A wolf queen of Scotland. * +

Of course the story of MacBeth bears no resemblance to the actual historical events of what happened between he and Duncan and even Malcolm but you have to remember the events that had just unfurled as he was writing this story. Paranoia, treason, murder and painful torture were on everyones minds.

The macbeth thing was on bbc a while ago * +
