WHAT if there was an entire universe that existed before the Big Bang? This is the theory of a leading Oxford University scientist who claims to have evidence of stars and galaxies that existed long before the universe as we know it formed, The Daily Mail reported. * +

id like to see how he could prove that. but im not one to think eveything started with a big bang anyway. * +

Its a theory of many physicists. Pre big bang theory is fascinating stuff and completely out there lol. Try find the Horizon episode on Iplayer about it. * +

so what would that make our current universe? and is there enough room out there for multiples? * +

Professor Roger Penrose says that cosmic radiation discovered by one of NASA's telescopes is older than the Big Bang. The researcher shows that the cosmic radiation background (CMB) formed in concentric circles that had cooled to a temperature of -270C over the 14 million years since the universe came into being. * +

Google the article in the daily mail, basically he isn't saying there are no big bangs but it just wasn't the beginning, expanding and contracting so it has happened many times * +

not that startling an idea tbh. I wonder how different it was, perhaps different rules applied? Matter clumped together in different ways, periodic table of elements set out all different. * +
