What he did was wrong but he was hardly the only one and by no means the worst as we have seen with the Pakistan cricket team and other incidents in other sports. Ppl like their scapegoats and he was hung out to dry. * +

I think people were so hard on him because of how much they invested in him. I remember when the allegations first surfaced, I laughed them off. At least make the story believable I thought and mention someone else. But Hansie? Pull the other leg. And then the illusion began to shatter for everyone. * +

i also couldn't believe it nd i didn't till he confessed, i was shocked... but seein how he was treated was heart breakin.. and he wasn't the only one... and that made me mad... i felt for him. * +

I was too young at the time, but I remembered his face and he was somewhat popular back then with Alan Donald and gary kirten. I remember a tv advert with alan donald etc. Maybe was standard bank or something. Bt yeah i thought he looked like a cool guy! * +
