Wrong rendering of scripture. Through him,not by him. Jesus is not God. John 1:1 is two seperate persons,Jesus as the Logos or Word is lower in station than THE God,whom he is WITH. God is a title which means a powerful one. If you read Psalm 82:6, you'll see what God himself calls men. Then read John 10:34-36, where Jesus quotes this. He then says in vs 36,'because I said I am the Son of God?' Jesus also said he has a God ie.'my God' in John 20:17, Matthew 27:46. * +
