Yeah I've also heard this date. I think it was arrived at by aligning our calendar with the Jewish one. Jesus was crucified on Nisan 14, 33 AD. So we can easily counter-reference the calendars to get the day in our modern calendar. * +

imo, He stayed on earth those 40 days to show that he had truly raised from the dead, to spread th gospel. to show without a shadow of a doubt that He was alive. * +
