Its their laws that allows their economy to be as great as it is. Especially their military. Remember everyone is quick to agree that it's the largest in manpower and logistics on this planet. Since its mandatory, they can set the pay scale at whatever they want. Low ranking.. You make the equivalent of a PS3.. High ranking I think gets 20-25000 yuan... So that's 3-4 PS3s...
Their military is not mandatory as its only a few million men, large compared to others but if it was mandatory it'll be in to the hundreds of millions, and this is not the 1980's I think they make more than a few ps3s in a year now * +

Actually if the 2 atom bombs hadnt been dropped on japan thinfs would have been worst. They didnt do it as a warning 2 the soviets, they did it bcuz the japanese on the islands fought 2 the death. They calculated that a land invasion of japan would cost the lives of millions of people. * +

China never went the way of the Soviet Union because it allied itself with the USA coz even though China is officially a communist country, it resented Soviet dominance hence it made economic and political deals with the capitalist giant. China embraced capitalism, the US opened its markets to chinese products. Its Richard Nixons fault.
At what cost did china embrace capitalism? By making people work for pennies a day??? How do u think they can produce goods sooo cheap? Magic maybe lol * +

A lot of people seem to envy China and quite rightly so. Your excuse is human rights isnt it? The US is busy striking drones on innocent children women and men in Waziristan as we speak. It makes me laugh when I hear Americans talk about human rights abuse... look whos talking.
Slave labour? Child labour? Oppression of its own people? Soz icey but I think u should check how the chinese treat their own muslims and then u might have a VERY different view of china. * +
