Before the advent of the whiteman's religion as Christianity was called, the African had the knowledge of God. Missionaries came and added their western culture and bedeviled the African culture. The Christianity of the west can never be married to that of Africa. In fact, the traditions of the people of the book are similar to date in many ways. * +

The lack of proper discipleship in many Churches in Africa, has made it easy for many to veer off from orthodoxy and marry ungodly traditions because they know this is what the grew to know as truth even though it is Biblically incorrect * +

i am christian, it's my duty to forward the word of God and the Bible to the people which have no knowledge of it. yet i don't condemn the africans or any other nation that met christians yet chose not to fully drop their traditions and faiths. * +

so eventho now some dudes from other religion would come and preach their religion to me and i would say i'm converted deep down my heart i can't forget the life style i grew up wit. it is what makes me who i am. same wit them africans and whatever. * +

I think you are right mab. The Bible was written in the context of the people of the middle east. I believe if Jesus was around via arctic region he wouldn't have mentioned the samaritans and it wouldn't surprise if he gave parables concerning whales. All the peoples of the world have contextualized the Bible to their region and culture. Culture is not necessarily evil * +
