Miracles I think are proof to those who had them and those close. World Religions (reportedly at least) began with dramatic miracles, signs and proofs. The first believers actually had proof... as time went, these diminished or sometimes vanished and the rest of generations of believers had to rely on the handed down reports and stories of proofs. * +

Well dgsn and Kim, questioning = doubt. Doubt =/= faith. Its an utmost necessity in several religions to not question. * +

This is where evidence comes in. Those stories of miracles have no evidence to prove them correct. Belief in them is a matter of faith, which is why faith shouldn't need evidence. *
