what is it that gives you that impression though? look how much they've done for the poor in the Western Cape since they won their first miniciple elections there... and the poor of midvaal too... not to mention what Lindiwe Mazibuko has done for scholars who've been denied education in rural areas etc... * +

what I like about the DA is that they show genuine interest in the well being of all South Africans, rich or poor, white or black, regardless of who they voted for. They have been fighting really hard for the rights of the poor here in the Eastern Cape where I live, where the service delivery is the worst in the country. * +

yup n1ck the DA is doin good.... but the cynic in me is alive when it comes to politics... power corrupts, nd if the DA did win Nationally who knows? they could be brilliant, ot they could then slack off. as i said i am cynical, i don't for one moment think that the DA is doin all this for the love of all us lil ppl, but for love of our votes. * +

Don't let anybody draw you into a black vs white argument. It has nothing to do with skin colour. This is about whether ANC should be in power, or the DA. The DA has black leaders too, you know. Look at Lindiwe Mazibuko and what a fantastic job she is doing for the DA.

It really isn't between the ANC and DA though. In the western cape and maybe gauteng I could agree but not nationally. Any viable national opposition to the ANC must come from a split in the alliance. And a proper split, not like COPE who only split because they lost out on tenders and then duped everyone into thinking they believed in the principles of democracy. *
