The 'Jesus movement' was crushed and scattered for 3 or so days and only met in secret for fear of the other Jews when their championed messiah was executed. 3 or so days later they emerge and are fired up, even defying the sanherdrin in claiming that Jesus had risen. What just happened? Some went on to get killed by the Romans for their claims. What did they just witness? * +

In its nascent period, the Jesus movement had many bitter enemies, pagan and Jew alike. Many false charges were labelled against it... There would be no greater blow than to find and produce the body of Jesus. This failed to happen and only conspiracy theories were weaved about what happened to the body. * +
