Just got a bit confused about the rising to life thing....does it happen right after you're dead or at the last day when Christ comes again? In reference to 1Thess4:16...that speaks of resurrection after Christ comes n the Transfiguration when he was visited by moses n Elijah in Matt17..which wld mean they resurrected after death. And yet again in Matt27:52-53 which says at his death the saints were raised. Could someone pls throw more light on this? * +

i believe in life after death, ghosts and that the soul is not asleep for who knows what time untill Jesus comes to earth. but this is just what i believe... * +

You're right the Matthew raising is strange and out of line with the rest of scriptures. Idk what it is about it though I suspect its integrity is compromised. Just look at this... If old testament saints are already resurrected it causes numerous problems... In addition to the thessalonians verse you cited... * +

In Acts 2:30, 34 Peter confirms that David was AT THAT time a dead and buried man, and he states that David had not ascended to heaven. Revelation 1:5 calls Jesus the firstborn from the dead, no one before his resurrection had been raised to immortality. So how could these rise befor christ? Hebrews 11:40 says the OT saints will not be perfected before or without us. 1 cor. 15:22-23 says the order of being raised to eternal life is first, Christ, then his people at his coming.
