If there is unform hermeneutics, why different doctrines? Anyway I do agree that contemporary editions like good news and NIV break things down a little bit but many theologians claim that textual accuracy is compromised in these newer editions. A majority actually believe the KJV is the only authentic, but many scholars didn't agree and felt the need to perfect/revise it, hence the RSV and NKJV. None of this has changed KJV only followers and they have almost become a bible version cult and do * +

The problem really isn't so much about using easy/modern English as it is about consistent renditions. Lawyers can argue out what the law says about a particular case because they refer to the same documents. For instance Acts of parliament and the national constitution dont come in different 'versions' because it would only complicate things. But when you argue about the bible and on disputed renditions summon differing versions of the same statements, what then? Its at this point debate bec * +
