Whats wrong with polygamy? One wife gets monday to wednesday, the other gets thursday to saturday. The husband takes a break on Sunday to watch football. * +

I wouldn't say endorse. But Abraham had two wives. Jacob had two. David had more than one. Solomon had a thousand. Muhammed had 12 even though Allah said muslim men can only have 4. See. Polygamy everywhere. * +

There's no prohibition. Its however a requirement for deacons and elders/bishops to have only one wife, the ideal, according to Paul, is a comlete celibacy to Serve Christ. But he strongly advises marriage to Avoid sexual sin. Monogamy is a western, not necessarily, christian norm. * +

I don see the NT going against polygamy only that you don't become a leader within the church. Am however not sure if to combine escatological return of Christ to take His bride away not brides could be read as one wife. This could be argued tho as the whole church not individuals * +
