What are your expectations of a God being? Anyway its true this fact of impossibility of existence originating itself only lands us in a deistic position. Not necessarily deity as understood by religions.

For me a god would have to have unlimited energy, defy the laws of physics and logic, be able to intervene in any situation, know what is happening in every square inch of the universe at all times simultaneously. I don't believe such a thing exists. With regard to the deities explanation, I would call them aliens. * +

Honestly do not see how we could possibly influence the universe in any way. We are far to insignificant, we live on a little blue rock barely visible to all of our closest neighbors bar the moon. If a meteor destroyed us tomorrow the only evidence of our existence would be a handful of space probes and a hundred odd years worth of radio signals. * +

The buddhist idea of enlightenment or at least my understanding of it seems to have all the qualities of a theists god,ie omniscient mind,infinite compassion...etc. * +
