Elohim (singular eloha) translated God or gods in the Bible means mighty ones. Its not restricted to mean only what we think of as 'God' today. Any powerful human was called an eloha, a god. Plus all supernatural beings were called 'elohim' or 'gods' because they are powerful beings compared to humans. In psalm 82 God (Yahweh) is talking to human rulers. They are powerful among others so they are called 'elohim' - gods. * +
