So while I'm aware, this is true of all communities in a world overrun with a culture of consumerism and wars with corporate interests, I think its necessary my community owns its own problems rather than disregard it in favour of religious rituals. Islam is more than a religion of ritual. Its a religion of conscience and character and we are letting ourselves down by claiming to serve it. * +
