A'udhu billahi minash shaytaanir rajeem. Bismillahir rahmanir raheem. Alhamdulillah. Was salaatu was salaamu alaa sayyidinaa muhammad, wa alaa aalihi wa sahbihi tasleeman katheeraa. A Muslim sister requested that i xplain the hanafi madh'hab in detail with proofs, there4 i have started this topic... * +

B4 looking at the madh'hab, it is imperative that we know the character n lifestyle of the person that founded the madh'hab. However, b4 going there, there r a cupla things i'd like 2 xplain. 1stly, what is fiqh? * +

Fiqh is a commentary on Qur'aan and hadith. Fiqh comprises of those masaa'il and laws which r xtracted or understood frm Qur'aan n hadith. There r 4 basic principles whereby fiqh is xtracted: 1) Qur'aan (i think every muslim wil agree that the Qur'aan has been sent as a guide 2us, differentiating between ryt and wrong... * +

2) Ahaadith. Now here, there is 1 group (who generally call themselves ahlul Qur'aan) who reject ahaadith. They use 1 of 3arguments. 1)that the Qur'aan is suficient 2understand deen. 2)that the ahaadith could nt posibly have reachd us in authentic form. 3)that the ahaadith was restricted 2the time of Nabi (saw) n nt valid thereafter... * +

2each of these groups, we reply in the folowing way: if the Qur'aan is suficient 2understand deen, y does Allah say regarding Nabi (saw), that he has been sent, 'liyu'allimahumul kitaaba wal hikmata wa yuzakkeehim'? The Qur'aan was revealed in Arabic, 2 a nati0n that understands arabic (the Arabs!) , yet it was Nabi's (saw) duty 2teach them the Qur'aan! * +

Remember that the sahaabah (ra) were experts at intense poetry. When even they could nt understand deen thru the Qur'aan, without the teaching of Rasulullah (saw), how do 2days muslims xpect 2understand it?! 2those wu say that the ahaadith could nt reach us in authentic form, we giv the folowing answer. * +

Allah Ta'ala says regardn nabi (saw), 'wa maa yantiqu anil hawaa. In huwa illaa wahyuy yu'haa.' (and He does nt speak frm his own desires. It is but revelati0n that is reveald). This indicates that EVERY word of Nabi (saw) was revelati0n. In an0ther verse, Allah says, 'innaa anzalnadh dhikra wa innaa lahu lahaafidhun'... * +

(verily, we have reveald ad-dhikr and we wil safeguard it). Ad-dhikr is the revelati0n of Allah, which includes both 'matloo' (that which is recited in the Qur'aan), as well as 'ghair matloo' (that which is nt recited, which we knw as ahaadith). When Allah's promise is true, wu can reject the authenticity of ahaadith? * +
