Is there any hadith or scripture in the Quran that frowns upon naming a child after an angel? A friend of mine named his son Israeel (not sure about the spelling), after the angel of death. His parents choked on their tea. He wants to know if their objections are justified. * +

Not sure about israel but I don't think there is any harm in naming your child after an angel in islam... I know a muslim guy called Mikaael...Mikaeel is an angel's name too btw. * +

I dont think it is wrong to give ur child the name of an angel. Who knows, whenever somone sees Izre'eel comin he might just think to himself, d*mn! I'd better make preparations before the REAL Izra'eel comes along * +

There is no angle whose name is israeel . names of two angles are israfeel and izraeel.ok * +
