Do you think it's ''right'' or ''normal'' that a parent would not wish a happy birthday or give invitation to events such as anniversary, wedding, funeral etc to their child because of ''awkwardness'' or fear of how their child would react? Does this sound familiar to you on anything you can relate to? As I'm a parent myself, it's kinda bugging me to see how other parents treat their kids, and was just wondering what others thought of this? * +

I maybe used the term child a little too loosely, I'm meaning like grown up kids, like sometimes kids leave home and then the parent makes no effort to keep in touch. Whose responsibility is it to keep a relationship going? * +
