Made many prophecies, sometimes centuries prior, which came true. Some are still pending fulfilment. If you're an atheist how would you account for this phenomenon? Doesn't it suggest the existence of a super-human intelligence which can give foreknowledge of the future? If you're religious, how would you account for this as he did not belong to any faith then but simply foretold? * +

the so called proficies are not specific enough to be judged accurate or not.. At best he was a man of great insight who was able to suggest general themes and tendencies within human nature and societys development. Make any prediction that requires interpretation and sooner or later it'll be interpreted as true! * +

More like any prophecies in the religions? Perhaps seers always keep their predictions partly veiled to avoid deliberate frustration of these prophecies if we know them clearly. Still I find a few more explicit ones intriguing. * +

''The blood of the just will be demanded of London, Burnt by the fire in the year 66.'' This one was accurate even with the year. The fire which razed trhough london was on sept2, 1666. * +

if a proficey predicts the inevitable then it can't be frustrated, but if it not inevitable then there's nothin to predict. So no need to veil anythin unless it just playin the odds. Same can be said of most proficies that don't predict the unexpected in a short time frame. * +

From the enslaved people, songs, chants and demands,The princes and lords are held captive in prisons: In the future by such headless idiots These will be taken as divine utterances. (Century 1, Quatrain 14). French revolution aptly foretold! * +

it was accurate with hindsight.. It cud equally have predicted whe collapse of great church onto worshipers in 1566 or a childrens home fire in 1966.. Both of which didn't happen so it's us interpretation only that makes it accurate * +
