Muslims around the world are unanimous in their opposition to terrorism and acts of terror. But sensational media reports and the work of religious apologists has skewed the Muslim communities opposition to illegal wars as a sign of consent for terror. I wish to use this post to highlight important Islamic knowledge pertaining to terrorism. * +

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, is a renown Islamic jurist who has been endorsed by all major Muslim religious schools and has written a comprehensive Fatwah (religious opinion) relating to terrorism. The opinion has been widely endorsed by scolars of Madinah, Al-Azhar, Deoband and others. I will be placing excerpts from his fatwah on this post. * +

Hopefully, this fatwah, itself a source of deep Islamic knowledge will help Muslims and non-Muslims understand classical Islam. Sectarianism and differences amongst Muslims on outlier issues, are small in comparison to fundamental beliefs and principles of Islam. InshaAllah we can all benefit from the teachings. * +

The Messenger PBUH described Islam is the basic tenets of Islam. It is to bear witness that there is no god but God, and that Muhammad is the messenger of God, to perform prayers, to give charity/alms, to fast in Ramadan and to make pilgrimage to the House (Kabah in Makkah) if you are able. * +
