I've read 'Lost Christianities' by Bart Ehrman. Very informative book expounding on early christian struggles between Pauline christians and the ebionites or Jewish church of Jerusalem under James and the subsequent triumph of the Pauline paradigm and extinction and hunting down of these jewish christians by the Pauline church fathers. He's an excellent scholar. * +
