I don't blame you iilmadme,or oldlass. I deliberated whether to go back to church (C of E) 30 yrs ago, but the history of it and hypocrisy I saw put me off. Even thought of Catholicism since the C of E split from it with Henry VIII. Couldnt agree on praying to Mary,Saints or their statues. I knew enough of what the bible said on that. * +

As for Christianity of the bible,it's adherents didn't view it as personal or keep it to themselves,as they went to other people to tell them and teach them,if they were willing. It's there in the N.T. The problem with some today,is the finger wagging overboard preachers of hell, or wanting a nice easy christianity that doesnt take any effort. * +

Way2go I to found that in the church too it's been 5 years since I have set foot in church but thank you all for your input I now don't feel so mixed up in my thoughts about it. * +

For me its about finding the right church which I did. I agree with dsgn on what Jesus stood for. I am stronger in a church with fellowship. I need to always work on that no one is perfect. There is as much and more good done in the name of Jesus as the oppisite. Good doesn't sell media space though * +

Jesus led me to my church as I was anti going back. I believe if you search you can find a fellowship that works for you. My church is very unconventional contempory and serves the community as well as abroad in every area you can think of and more. We are simply a 1 stop shop for everthing from debt advice parish nurses toddler groups encillary groups youth work is awesome and so on * +
