Some say you are John the Baptist (he was dead), some Elijah, others Jeremiah or one of the prophets. The view of jewry was that people get reborn. What followed thereafter was the disappearance of Judaism. Literally! The pharisaic clergy replaced the priestly tradition with their own conjured view of history and completely re-invented Judaism. They apostated it and what remained after that was Pharisaism. What we call Judaism today is actually pharisaism. Their ideas were written into another Holy Book, the Talmud. * +
