The prophetic books in the Bible are the most difficult to understand. You can read a full chapter in the book of Revelation and still not know what you're reading about. For now lets look at Revelation 12. We see a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of 12 Stars on her head. Enter a seven-headed dragon..... The dragon pulls down a third of the stars to the earth. He stands before the woman, waiting to devour her child as soon as it is born. She gives birth to a male child but he is caught up to God before the dragon can harm her. * +

The male child is destined to rule the nations with a rod of iron. After the child is caught up to heaven the woman flees into a desert where she stays for 3 and a half years. Then.... This woman is the christian church. The sun on her head is Christ, the sun of righteousness. The moon under her feet is the old testament upon which the church is founded. Just like the moon reflects the light of the sun, the old testament foreshadows Christ. The crown of twelve stars on her head symbolises the doctrine of the twelve apostles that the church is based on. The dragon is the devil. * +

We know that satan took a third of the angels.the child is the overcomers who will go in the rapture. Revelation 2:26-27 tells us that the overcomers will rule the nations with a rod of Iron. The woman gives birth to the Child. The church produces overcomers. The dragon wants to devour the child. Satan wants to destroy the overcomers. The child is caught up to heaven. The overcomers are raptured. * +
