Or it could be due to chemical fertilisers leeching out of farmland into the rivers that is subsequently flowing out into the ocean and inadvertently providing these these algal blooms with masses of fertiliser.dontknow.gif

It's a combination of all the factors you stated. Creating the ''perfect storm'', so to speak, and also creating a feedback loop.. algae kills off fish. Fish decay and help continue the environment that benefits the growth of algal mats on the ocean floor.. etc etc *
