I think the majority of adults have lower amounts of VIT D than needed , saying have a varied diet and eat better doesnt always mean you cant have lower levels than needed, last year mine were so low i had to have 2 500mcg tablets a week of it for 3 weeks and i eat really well , i have to wear factor 50 sunblock though because im really fair skinned i burn in like 21/22 degree kind of weather if its sunny so that doesnt help

It doesn't help that we cover ourselves so much, even in the sun. My head and arms are sun-proof but topless a mildly hot sunny day will burn me.

Add to that man's ever increasing tendency to spend one's life indoors, and there's no surprise vitamin D is an issue.

Many people stick their nose up at oily fish, and now the vegan trend is removing egg yolk, red meat and liver from their diet too - meaning that people are relying almost entirely on additive/fortification to get any vitamin D. * +
