i see a guy regularly on one of those uniwheel thingybobs, he rides it in the center of the road doing about 25mph. It doesnt look that safe to me. * +

Feel terrible for the kid but the parents are to blame. No vehicle with less than 4 wheels and a powertrain capable of a cruising speed of at least 80kph should be allowed on public roads.
