with just a bit of a sore throat my brother tested positive for Covid.... I could feel my heart sink to the pit of my stomach and then to the floor.... I felt so much fear.... but he was doing great, he was exercising, going for walks and felt great, no fever, no cough, just a slight scratchy throat.... then about 6 days in, he started to get sore when he breathed in too deep... still no fever, no cough... a day or two later he felt like collapsing while he was sitting in a chair, suddenly he couldn't breathe, then his real hell began. He was given oxygen, put on a drip etc... he wasn't bad enough to need be put on a ventilator but he couldn't breathe.... hospitals are full, waiting lists for ventilators... it was unreal, ppl still saying this virus isn't real... my brother is 41, no underlying conditions... Covid is unpredictable, you have no idea how it will hit you... thank God my brother is much much better now 3 weeks later... * +

my one cousin also tested positive, she too is struggling to breathe, in the worst pain of her life, has no energy and is terribly sick, also getting there bit by bit....

it's been a bit of a rough haul for my family lately, this Covid is so unpredictable and so very real. * +

I'm sorry about your cousin. I hope they get better soon. And I'm happy to hear that your brother is doing better.

my brother is healthy and strong, not the man flu type, from a child til now, nothing gets him down, broken foot, heatstroke and so many other things never ever go him to lay in bed... NOTHING ever makes him take a day off work... yet here he was... he couldn't lie down and sleep, the moment he laid down, his struggle to breathe was even worse, he had to sit... he couldn't taste anything and couldn't eat, nothing ever takes his appetite away.... * +

my sister's husband's brother, also a young man with no underlying conditions was hospitalised and needed a ventilator, he was put on a waiting list, he nearly died, he is recovering but had to stay on oxygen long after he was discharged * +

my niece's father and his gf also got it, while they weren't too bad, they still can't breathe when just taking a trip to the toilet, this is now a month or two after thay have recovered... also two young and healthy ppl. There are no guarantees, and it's NOT just a flu. * +

we believe she will be okay... it's looking good, well better at least. As a family it feels as if all we have been doing is praying and stressing. It has been beyond stressful. * +

when I spoke to my brother and he said that he loved me, then he sent a whatsapp saying that he loved me, I wanted stressed even more. I mean I know he loves me, but he isn't one to say it, never... and twice in one day, I just cried and cried... I spent so much time lately crying in the bath, the toilet, in the bathroom or in bed at night, any place where my mum couldn't and wouldn't see.... I had to just put on a strong face the whole time. only my husband saw my terror and tears. I don't ever want to go through this again. * +
