I'm talking about ''there were suitcases full of ballots under a table but we are now classing this as false information'' fact checking.. how do you get classed as a person who decides what has or has not actually happened? How do they come to these conclusions? Research via the internet?

They do the audits, look deep into the files and maybe interviewing the eyewitness accounts who basically saw/wrote down what had happened. The truth comes out in how consistent the accounts of everyone's recall. The basis of journalism is peer-reviewing the literature, journals, studies, papers etc but that creates an egg and chicken situation tho * +

You have these pages on FB that 'fact-check' stuff, and it's difficult to trust nowadays. Everyone has an agenda. You're in as long as you can read, write, present and follow orders. The editors set the tone and agenda, and rest just gather the dirt. * +

Fact checking organisations need to be correct or they lose integrity and wouldn't be believed. That is what keeps them stating only facts * +
