When watching YouTube on my phone or tablet i sometimes get the option to Cast to the tv. Why does this option only appear sometimes? I tried to use it earlier and the option wasn't there,then an hour later it was! * +

there should always be a box with bands across the lower left corner near the top of the video.

that's in the app itself, if you watch via a browser then it's a different story. Chrome supports casting but it's also Chrome so there's that. * +

That box is only sometimes there Mel. That's what's puzzling me. I can be watching YouTube on my phone or tablet and that symbol/option to cast can be there one hour and not there an hour later. * +

Look for 'wi-fi direct' or 'mirror-share' settings on the phone/tablet itself, you should be able to pair the device with the TV(and/or the TV with the device) and then you won't need to wait for the YouTube option to appear.

I just touch the 'mirror-share' button from the drop down tool bar menu on my phone and it displays whatever is on my phone's screen on the telly, wether that be the home screen, YouTube or anything else, could even have prodigits on the TV if I wanted to.
