Remembering all those who gave their lives so we could enjoy our freedom. So we could argue like fk about politics. Quite a few people at my local ceremony this morning. Nice to see people like shop workers standing outside their shops and paying their respects as well * +

I went to my local war memorial, small service and quite a good turnout considering everything, not the usual Remembrance Day for me though as it usually ends up an all day drinking session after the parade. * +

Am normally working Dodgey so I don't get the chance but due to lockdown I have a few weeks off. Might go down to Brookwood in a couple of days and pay my respects there * +

Nice one. Forgot you live near there, near Pirbright, the place that made me grow up quick as a 16 year old * +

Always the ones what simply say known unto God what hurt me the most.... The recent iraq/Afghanistan graves are also very moving and the American chapel * +

I have never been able to feel strong sentiments in the way of commemorating soldiers and honouring war heroes who fell in battle and war.
Maybe it's because patriotism and national sentiments always felt very little to me in the way of a more globalcentric approach. But since others honour the fallen soldiers so much, there is probably a grain of truth to those sentiments. * +
