Nicola Sturgeon has said that a draft Bill will be drawn up setting out the timing, terms and question for a new Scottish independence referendum.

Announcing her programme for government in the Scottish Parliament, the First Minister said a draft Bill will set out the proposed question people will be asked in a new poll.

She said at next years Holyrood election she will make the case for Scotland to become an independent country, and seek a clear endorsement of Scotlands right to choose our own future.

Addressing the self-sabotage of Brexit, Ms Sturgeon said leaving the EU strengthens the case for Scotland becoming an independent country.

What about if the majority of people in the whole of Ireland don't want that ? * +

I suppose technically speaking NI can leave the UK without being reunified. * +

I really don't know, I know a mechanism is in place for a vote on reunification. But that's far from a given IMO. People tend to vote according to their wallets * * +

I think if it involved tax rises in the south then it would fail. We pay to much as it is . Some say it would cost billiins, some say it would save billions. I don't really know much about it tbh. I don't really follow Irish politics * +
