Online surveying is actually a lucrative business and companies often look for feedback through third party companies from consumers. Of course there are scams too, but here are legit ones I use:

there are lots of fly by night operations who say they'll pay you once your online account has h*t x amount.
then they close down and re-open under a new name and their old customers are left fuming. * +
