Do your work, research it so you know you're right, be firm in your interactions, but show respect, expect criticisms and accept criticisms. They wont be expecting much from the new guy, so when you do speak, make sure you're on point. * +

My job starts remotely; and I have to pick a laptop up from the company on the 31st. Normally with face to face interaction, I can play politics, work harder, develop stronger connection with people and cement myself in the firm;
But with all the remote work thing, how do you guys reckon I can do all the work and still make an impression while showing that I fit into their work culture? I have no intent on leaving this law firm even by the end of the internship.

So any tips? Suggestions? Anything will be appreciated. It's my first time doing online work for a large global corporation.

Pic unrelated;

Does your company require you to be logged in somewhere so they know you're actually working? Do you need to be on camera most of the time? I guess the answer depends on what your job is like.

Stuff like 'fitting into a work culture' would take a bit of a backseat because there's no clear way to measure that. Your timeliness, productivity and responsiveness can make you stand out.

Watch out for people a level higher than you because they like to show authority, and exploit new employees (especially interns) plus the lines between work and home will become blurred, so be careful you don't overwork yourself. If you're pushed to the edge, speak up.

Make sure you give some proactive inputs to your boss, and don't hesitate to ask for help/clarifications. If your meetings are not scheduled well in advance, keep a buttoned shirt always ready. * +

Im working from home as well, all computer work, just make sure you do all your assigned work and keep on top of everythin, as there will be other ppl who are taking the piss and you want to stand out for workin as well at home as you do in the office, ive actually been more productive at home than i am in the office , probably cause im not being distracted, but there is people pure taking the piss that i work with and their productivity has gone down and the bosses notice all this, even tiny things * +
