Chapman was infatuated with Lennon, he was an avid fan for many years.

He killed Lennon because his 'personal relationship' with who he believed Lennon was, had been torn apart by Lennon's actions in the late 70s.

The posh apartment in New York and the Rolls Royces.. Chapman felt betrayed that his hero seemed like a complete hypocrite, on reflection of the old Beatles hippy he'd fallen in love with years before.

Lennon knew about Chapman, knew he was a potentially toxic fan - Lennon actually signed an autograph for Chapman shortly before he was shot.

So Bowie probably wasn't at the same level of risk. * +

Do you think he made the right decision? Which universe would you rather be stuck in? The John Lennonless one or the one mostly lacking David Bowie? Had Bowie done most of his good stuff before Dec 1980?
