Someone not existing anymore is a huge thing. I don't think you should put pressure on yourself to stop feeling any kind of way. You said yourself, it isn't every day anymore. That's progress, and seems to show that you are already getting somewhere, if you do if fact have prolonged grief disorder. I say already, because six years isn't even a long time in my eyes. What Mikey said about living how they would want you to, and so that you can honor them in a world they are no longer in, is a good place to start, maybe then the way you feel will start to change. It's worth a try. Your life is still there to be lived. * +

I lost my dad 32 years ago this year.
The grief still sometimes knocks me sideways and I suppose it always will.
I read something about grief being like the ocean, sometimes it is calm and sometimes it is like a tsunami, hitting you with full force.
