I recently cleared out a fair few years worth of stuff in a back-to-basics house move.
What struck me wasn't the randomness but the sheer quantities and sizes..
Two VW engines and a Peugeot engine
Four VW gearboxes
Twelve VW tail light clusters
Nine carburettors
Nine bicycles
Two cars
Seven mobile phones
Two sets golf clubs
Three angle grinders
Several car batteries
Countless items included boots/trainers, bike parts, car parts, fabrication materials (mostly metal tubing), torches..?!
Large car parts included two doors, wings, a tailgate and a bonnet.
I lived in a 3rd floor flat..
No telly though. Didn't have room. Almost everything went. * +

I used to keep some amount of utter sh*te. I was overly sentimental as well...
Complete opposite now, maximalist style but minimalist in practise * +
