I get where you're coming from.

I've had 50 years of city life, apart from most of my teens which was country life.
I've simply had enough of the rat race, the overcrowding, crime, pollution, noise, congested, potholed roads etc.

I've always preferred the country to the city, I can't remember the last time I stepped foot in our city centre, where my friends are, has a town a few miles in either direction, so it's not like they're a million miles from nowhere but it feels like it...

I moved from Edinburgh to a pretty rural area in Ireland, some difference that was. Horses for courses I guess * +

It's not until I talk to other people about having a pantry stocked with povo food for emergencies that I realise I'm in the strict minority.
