Theresa May has unveiled a statue of Nancy Astor the first woman MP to edit in Parliament.
Astor was furiously antisemitic. * +

Astor belonged to a group called the Cliveden set who favoured appeasement policies and were accused of being sympathetic to fascism.
She once told MP Alan Graham ''Only a jew like you would dare be rude to me''. * +

Its truly disgraceful to have a monument to such a person. Maybe some folk will tear it down..that would be good! * +

Wonder what the Chief Rabbi has to say about it?
Imagine the outrage if Corbyn had unveiled it! * +

She didn't like Catholics either. She holds a significant place in our constitutional history so I would say a statue is entirely appropriate. * +

Anti semitism was rife when she was in parliament and I bet she wasn't the only one to hold such views about Jewish people. Doesn't excuse it though. * +

It absolutely doesn't and the statue should in know way be a veneration of those beliefs. * +
