Who's from your country could be the prisoner who spent longest periods in prison, due to political/opinion/conflict reasons? (i.e. no criminals please)...
For Palestinians, He is Na'el Albargoti, who has started his 40th years in Israeli prisons...

not sure whether their are any prisoners of conscience or political detainees in the UK in the long term.
