I generally use the formal writing rules for signing off letters, I don't actually remember the last time I wrote a letter that wasn't formal in nature.

If you start your letter with the recipient's name, i.e 'Dear Joe Bloggs', then you should always sign off with 'Your's Sincerely' before your signature.

If you don't know the recipient's name and started with 'Dear Sir/Madam', then you sign off with 'Your's Faithfully'.
